To all those I haven’t seen in a while, the rides have been going well. Interesting that the C group has now grown significantly and the B’s and A’s are holding there own.  This is good news as we have been trying to encourage the C’s and the Casual riders to take advantage of riding together in a pretty supportive environment.

Over the last 4 – 6 weeks I’ve run into riders either in the shop or on the road and while discussing where/who/what about their rides discovered that some of us don’t ride with the group anymore with a common reason: We start or ride too fast.  While tackling this problem has been a challenge for nearly 10 years, I thought we had done a good job managing the issue.  Guess I was wrong!

So I would like to correct it.
To start off I’m open to any suggestions and encourage ANY of you to respond to this email to me personally or now that I’ve started a BLOG post on the website, a public response would be even better.

I would love to have volunteers rotate through being sweep/lead in the C and Casual group.  For doing so you should be rewarded. It’s easy for me to offer Gift cards or discounts at the store but some of you are not motivated by $, it’s your time that is valuable and getting the best fitness regime on your Saturday morning is perfectly understandable.

So here is my first suggestion:  Any volunteers that wish to lead/sweep on a Saturday morning ride (C’s and Casual being the priority) please make yourselves known and we’ll maintain an ambassador list on Facebook.  We only ask that you volunteer once monthly and encourage the other riders in your group to do so as well. ThecyclePros will offer a $10 Gift Card for EACH time you take on this position AND we will throw down 3 BBQ’s throughout the season (Spring, Summer, and Fall) at no charge.
While I figure out the best way to create this ambassador list, just like/comment on our weekly rides on Facebook.  This seems to be were most go to get the latest on our rides anyhow; they;ll see that someone is sweeping (and likely appreciate it)
